Ikutaryu-sokyoku『Rokudan-no-Shirabe』･･･Yatsuhashi-Kengyo composition Those who learn KOTO surely learn this music. "The spring sea" and "Rokudan-no-Shirabe" of performances are listened by people all over Japan in the New Year. It seems that in present many traditional musics are gradually being forgotten by people but the music of Rokudan is survivng somehow. It may be boorish for me to comment such famous music in this way or that. However, this music has been inherited from one to another since 1600 for 400 years without being forgottten, there must be something in the music that makes it stands out, even until now. It is very dangerous if the tradition of this importance in Japan is wiped out. The wonderfulness of monophony in Japanese music is never easy to be
written as muscial scores,
nor into recordings of DVD or CD. Its essence that can only be demonstrated
through
live performance.
It is the important treasure which will never return to the earth once it stops. If such a thing is considered, it becomes tense, and it is very difficult to play.
