Performance Career of the Artist

Born in Oita (west part of Japan).
Started to learn koto at the age of eight and shamisen at the age of eleven.

1974 Guided by Murata Sueko (deceased), then studied under Miyagi Kiyoko, the National Living Treasure
1975 Entered the Dept. of the Music(Japanese classics) in Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
1978 Winner of a prize at Miyagi-kai competition in the general section.

1979 Graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
1979 Organized ‘Miono-kai’, soukyoku association.
1980 Miono-kai’s first concert (Continues to be held annually
1984  Performed in a recital titled ‘ East and West - Music in the 16th century ’ held at music hall of University of Colorado, USA.
1991 Began to study under Noriko Togashi and to join concerts in schools for children at the same time.
1995 Participated in the 110th anniversary of the foundation of her old Oita Uenogaoka Prefectural High School.
    Held ‘ Ono Mayumi Koto Recital’ at Nohgakudo in Oita municipal Heiwa Shimin Park.

1997 Held ‘ Ono Mayumi &  Kida Atsuko Recital – from classic to contemporary ‘ at  the Kioi Hall.
1998 Held ‘ Charity concert – Japanese Sounds ’ at the Bunka Hall of Oita Konparu Hall.
    Donated sum of the proceeds (416,330 yen) to the Oita Prefectural High Schools’ Federation for students’ activities.
1999 Held the concert performed with a member ‘Jiuta to sokyoku no kai’at the Akasaka Kumin Center Hall in Tokyo.
    It has held since then every year.
2000 Performed in the Japan Festival held at Vienna Concert House in Austria.
