Ikuta-Ryu Sokyoku『Chidori no Kyoku』・・・Composer Yoshizawa Kengyo 【Lyrics】 Shio no yama sashide no iso ni sumu chidori Kimi ga miyo w ba yachiyo tozo naku. (From Kokinsyu) Awazishima kayou chidori no naku koe ni ikuyo nezamenu suma no sekimori. (From the chapter of winter of Kinyosyu) I call the five pieces of "Chidori no kyoku" , "Haru no kyoku" "Natsu no kyoku" "Aki no kyoku"and "Fuyu no kyoku" which Yoshizawa-Kengyo composed "the Kokin-Gumi (ancient and modern times mixed)". When "Maeuta( the beginning part of song)" is over, the famous melody of "Pre-Tegoto(a support act) of a wave" is played. I always play it gentle feel like big and small waves hitting on the beach From Hon-Tegoto(a major part of Tegoto), another melody "Kaete" is added, and it is dueted. It is a beautiful melody which includes expression such as the singing of the bird-chidori, sound of rowing a boat, sound of wind among the pines etc. It is a music which every Japanese would know. Isnt this a melody which reminds you of past sweet memory ? which probably expains the secret of this music's popularity? When I play this music upon a request from Paris-raised French friend of mine, he listened impressively with feeling of nostalgia. I was deeply impressed by discovering the fact that music did not have a border By the way, in a piece written by Takeshi Nakai, there is a story of "chidori of the beach and chidori of the river". The chidori written in the first singing segment was the chidoriwhich inhabited near the riverside ... which I have always thought that chidori was only in the sea until recent years. (An additional note) I had Ichiko Shirai which plays an active role is the Miono-kai as an assistant instructor playing the "Kaete" this time. In Miono-kai, members of the reliable consultant who are full of human experiences are available in Takanawa and Yokohama and Oita, always provide support to me all the time which I am really thankful to them. Now, shall we perform and enjoy what is coming next time? ![]() HOME |
